LIVERY GUIDE for GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY & BR Western Region

Information provided on the liveries and dates of prototype (the full-size) locomotives, coaches and freight vehicles has been obtained from a wide range of published sources and is provided here in good faith. We cannot guarantee that we have information relating to the above parameters for every locomotive at every stage of its life.

GWR (1870-1912) Intertwined monogram

At 12 inch tall this was in use from around 1870 to 1912 and was used on both locomotives and carriages. Older carriages in the latter stages had monograms which were approx half this size and for some years 4 were applied to each coach. FRH4103/2 Transfers are available in all modelling scales

Great Western Railways 1903-1947

Nameplates and cabside numberplates - most of the classes listed below are available in their entirity.
CITY CLASS - Nameplates - FEP3440/3717, FEP3442/3719 & 3700 (ie prefix code FEP followed by loco number)
